B Basketball - Knights Hand Tucker Their First Defeat

The Preston boys turned up the defense in the second half of action on Friday night in front of a packed gymnasium at Preston High. The Knights held just a 29-25 lead at halftime but pulled away with a 20-10 run in the third quarter and never looked back. The Knights defeated the then undefeated Tucker County Mountain Lions 70-50.

Junior Colton Goff made a big contribution to the Preston win by recording a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Not to go unmentioned, Goff also recorded his first ever dunk in a game bringing the crowd to their feet! T.J. Thompson led all scorers with 24 points while Shayne Murray chipped in 15 points. Cody Thompson added 7, Clint Wagner had 5, while James Crogan, Shawn Johnson, and Andrew Boggs dropped in 2 points each. The Knights record is
now 11-1.

Preston's JV squad improved it's record to 6-4 by defeating Tucker County 55-34. Mitchell Koch drained 18 points and R.T. Goff
netted 12.

The Martinsburg game scheduled for Saturday, January 30 was cancelled due to the weather and rescheduled for Tuesday, February 23 at Preston High.

The Knights next game is Wednesday, February 3, when Morgantown High comes to the Preston Knights Castle. The JV game begins at 5:45 and the varsity game at 7:30.
