G Soccer - Players Earn All-State and Conference Honors
Wednesday, November 12th, 2008Three members of the girls soccer team have recently earned individual honors. Forward, Gwen Brand, earned 2nd Team All-State honors while defender, Abbey Hart, was named Honorable Mention All-State. The All-State team is selected by the West Virginia Soccer Coaches Association.
At the conference level, Gwen picked up another prestigous honor. She was selected as the NCAC Conference Co-Player of the Year. She shares this honor with Laura Dalton of Fairmont Senior. Brand, who was the captain of this year's team, scored a total of 16 goals in her senior campaign.
Also earning conference honors was freshman, Megan Smith. Smith was tabbed as a member of the NCAC Conference 2nd Team.
